Youtube says...

One day as I browsed the videos of Youtube for wisdom and enlightenment during my lecture, A video's title caught my attention, "The Perfect Guy: What Girls Want". After viewing the video, I drew similar conclusions to the video as there is no such thing as a perfect guy unless you have a severe bipolar disorder, that happened to occur at the right times. This got me thinking as to how we were to combat this problem, this inability to be accepted by the female counterparts as a whole because we are unable to...unable to....locate a specific target?

O_O

That's it! If the problem is not being able to be the perfect guy to many girls, why not concentrate on one? Of course this solution reaches another 'brick wall'-type problem, what if we do not know what type of a girl we want? Do you want a girl with looks?, brains?, character?................yet this seems hardly like a brick wall.....the answer to this migraine-inducing complication?..................

...whether you are the initiator of the conversation (which on MANY MANY MANY cases you are because of the obvious interest) or not, talking is the solution. At the same time, this simple act of communication is critical, no matter how well your eyes met with a girl or how well she smiled, if there is no dialogue, there is no progress, whether it be the development of a friendship/relationship OR the realisation of whether there is that certain 'click' or not. Of course when we ponder upon the risks involved through a conversation, I mean look at it, if she were a close friend, you would have already known whether you like her or not and whether the interest is mutual. So we are left with three possibilities, a friend who you have recently met, a friend of a friend who you would like to know more about and a total stranger on the street that grabbed your attention.

Solution to possibility 1: TALK TO HER and risk being wrongly taken as a seedy guy by her rather than as a 'friend'.

Solution to possibility 2: TALK TO HER and risk being wrongly taken as a seedy guy by her AND your mutual friends rather than as a 'friend'.

Solution to possibility 3: TALK TO HER and risk being taken as a seedy guy rather than a comfortable person to talk to on the street.

(These are the common risks and perceptions in the minds of a guy and a girl and are, by no means, the be all and end of risks and perceptions.)

In all three possibilities, there is a risk, a risk that a guy will have to take, but if we were to think "Is that risk all worth it?", "Do I want to be seen as a seedy guy by the girl I have a particular interest in?"

Thoughts never magnified a predicament as such, but in this case....the more we think, the more we become hesitant. So as you can see, dear reader, it is not easy to initiate a conversation but if it were to be initiated by a person, guy or girl, please PLEASE cut them slack by making yourself easier to converse with, or kindly give them a clear idea of your disinterest about them............or else how can we be the, not so much the 'Perfect Guy' but the 'Ideal Guy for You' =]

Path to Self Improvement

Among the scores of conversations that have taken place between my friends and I, a common thought of 'improvement' has occurred, whether its financial, physical or social. The repetition of "Only if.." and "I wish I had.." throughout these conversations have sparked a project that a friend and I will participate in as to see the 'true effects' of making those "Only if.."s and "I wish I had.."s into reality. The intended goal is to see the effect of improving one's physical and social image and thereby increasing attraction and confidence.

I stress beforehand that this experiment is to explore the effect of change on one's physical and social image TEMPORARILY. It will have feedback in the form of the reader's comments and will NOT be a guide but rather a log of changes and the outcomes that it creates.

Before taking the first step into this experiment of unbounded gains, we must first separate our goal into several factors, Character, Body and Dress Sense/Grooming. These factors would then be split into monthly 'stages' to show the chronological development of the social machines that we shall become.

There will be a checklist of activities within each stage, and here is where the real excitement begins, so please with constructive minds, suggest what types of activities that you think would make a person sociable and would be attractive. They will be carefully knitted into the list of stage one along with improvements in workouts, choices in style and character.

As each stage is completed, feedback is encouraged for improvement in each of the 3 factors, so please help us reach our goal. Whether its "Oh you're not doing enough push ups" or "You should shave regularly" or even "You need a haircut" all feedback is welcomed as long as it stays productive.

Now a few pictures of Specimen A's Body before improvement.
